Berkley, MA - (May 20, 2009) – In a joint announcement, Mad Dog Motorsports Driver, Jake Vanada, and DeSouza Motorsports Owner, Eric DeSouza, announced that the Berkley, MA driver will be the team’s newest addition.  Jake has been tabbed to drive one of the Late Models in the DeSouza Motorsports stable, beginning Saturday, May 23.  
 
“I’m really pleased to have this opportunity.  I am honored to be asked by Eric to run his team’s Late Model.  They have some good equipment, and I am looking forward to seeing exactly what it can do,” Jake said about the deal.
 
The agreement between the two parties will span the next several weeks, the time it is expected to take for the MDM team’s #46 Pro Stock to be repaired.  The MDM car was damaged in the season opening 75-lap main event when another car made contact with Jake’s nose, bending the front clip.
 
“I am just happy to be able to keep racing while we make the repairs to the Pro Stock.   Thanks to Eric and his team’s generosity we will be able to do just that.  This will give us the opportunity to take our time and go through the whole car very carefully, making sure that everything is in good working order before we bring the Pro Stock back out onto the track.”
 
Jake’s first event in his new ride will be this Saturday, May 23, at Seekonk Speedway (MA) for a 30-lap main event.
