Berkley, MA – (May 1, 2008) – This Sunday, the Mad Dog Motorsports (MDM) team will begin their assault on the 2008 Pro Stock Rookie of the Year title at the Seekonk Speedway (MA). The team will be competing in the 40-lap event for the track’s top-tier division.
“We could not be more excited,” said driver Jake Vanada. “We have had two solid practice sessions and are looking forward to doing battle with Seekonk’s best in an actual race.”
The team just completed their second practice session this Saturday at their home track, Seekonk Speedway. Once again the team was close to the top of the speed charts, according to ARC (the sanctioning body of the Speedway) timing and scoring.
“I think that we have earned a lot of respect in the two weeks that we have been here. We realize that there is still more for us to learn, but we have already come a long way and caught some people’s attention. We are looking forward to Sunday. That will be our first real test,” noted Crew Chief Chuck Vanada.
The Pro Stocks will be on hand in addition to the Northeastern Midget Association (NEMA), their newly formed Lites division, and Seekonk’s Late Model, Street Stock, and Sport Truck divisions. Practice will begin at 12:00 PM and qualifying will begin at 1:00 PM on Sunday.
Check back early next week for all of the news on Sunday’s event.
